Key Stage 2 refers to the programmes of study children follow in Years 3,4,5 and 6. At the end of Key Stage 2, children are formally assessed in reading, writing and mathematics and the outcomes are published to parents.
The downloadable documents below outline the content of the programmes of study for all the subjects children at this age will study.
There is Cycle A and Cycle B. This is because we have mixed aged groups. Year 3 and 4 are tought together and Year 5 and 6 are taught together.
Planning a curriculum over a two year cycle avoids children studying the same programme of study in Year 3 and then repeating it in Year 4 for example.
