The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) refers to our Reception Class.
The Reception year in a primary or infant school marks the final year of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is because a child who attended a pre-school setting is likely to have started to work towards the Early Learning Goals.
The Early Learning Goals can be viewed in this section. The Early Learning Goals are the expected outcomes a typical child should be able achieve at the end of the Reception Year.
Not all children achieve the Early Learning Goals. In 2016, 69% of Reception aged children nationally achieved a Good Level of Development. A Good Level of Development is defined as a child achieving all the prime Early learning goals and the literacy and maths goals.
