For maths this week please check your child's knowledge of 2D shapes, symmetry and repeating patterns. You can use the attached sheets or design your own.
Use 2D shapes to decorate the egg - talk about the names and properties of the shapes e.g sides, corners, curved sides, straight sides, equal sides. Compare this vocabulary with the 3D shape vocabulary from last week. If you are using the sheet see if you can copy the pattern.
Draw and colour in the eggs so that they are symmetrical.
Try to colour or paint eggs with repeating patterns e.g red, blue, red, blue. Or more complex patterns red, blue, green, yellow, red, blue, green, yellow. The attached sheet also has repeating shapes.
The ELG you will be working on is:
ELG 12 - Shape, space and measures - Children recognise, create and describe patterns. They explore characteristics of everyday objects and shapes and use mathematical language to describe them.
Exceeding - Children talk about properties of 2D and 3D shapes.
It would be great to see some of your eggs on Tapestry.
