Evacuation work

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. It was great to speak to some of you on Tuesday.

Here is the work for the next few days:

Year 6

Subject What to do: Suggested time
Literacy

Handwriting and spelling- keep learning the spellings from Monday, write them out again in your best handwriting (remember ascenders and descenders and try to join). Ask someone to test you on these spellings on Friday. If you are super confident them ask someone to select 20 words from the Yr5/6 list at random to test you on.

Attempt a Scholastic Reading Pro test. Remember to read the questions carefully and thoughtfully before you answer. The Org ID for our school is D5XY. Your username is usually both your names with no space and a capital for your first name. So mine would be: Garethwilliams. The password has no capitals. Email me if you can't remember your password.

Oak Academy (maths Year 6)- There are 5 lessons on co-ordinates and shapes- work your way through some or all of these lessons at your own pace. Remember you can pause to take notes, think, talk about or check your understanding. Continue from Monday please.

Geometry, Measures and Statistics SAT buster- choose a section from this book that you haven't yet completed and work your way through this section carefully.

Topic

Read your notes from earlier in the week about 'evacuation'. Remember young children were evacuated from cities to the countryside in order to keep them safe. Then read the attached document and try to answer the questions in your book.

30 mins
Creative

Play a board game or card game with a family member- try to enjoy the experience whether you win or lose. Write down the name of your game, who you played it with and then write as many verbs as you can that you had to 'do' in order to play the game and write down as many adjectives as you can that describe the game e.g frustrating, enjoyable.

30 mins

Project Continued. Either continue with your project by planning and writing the next chapter or for those of you that may have completed your project you could think of a different project that you could complete. If you are planning a second project you could turn the red book upside down and work from the other end of the book (hope this makes sense). 45 mins
