Topic based task

This week we were meant to be going to the woods.  It would be fantastic if any of you could go to the woods, any woods will be fine, but please don't arrange with others to go together as this will not be in line with the Government's social distancing guidelines.

Some ideas of things you could do in the woods.

  • Build a shelter with fallen wood.
  • Look for minibeasts - check under logs, leaf litter.
  • Look for animal tracks.
  • Make a journey stick.  Take some string or wool with you. When you get to the woods find a piece of wood about 30cm long.  Use the wool or string to attach items you find on your walk. This could be leaves, feathers, pine cones etc.
  • Look at the different trees. Talk about the different leaves. Look for buds and signs of Spring.

Please ensure you stay safe and observe social distancing rules when out in the woods.

If you can't get out to the woods you can do some of these things in your garden. If you only have small sticks you can build a shelter for a teddy. You can look on the internet and find information about different trees and their leaves.

Please upload any photos onto Tapestry.
