Good morning everyone,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. Below is the work for those of you working from home this week. There is a sporting theme as it would have been our Sports Day this week. There are a series of Maths lessons on the Year 5 Oak Academy Site that link to converting metric units of measure that you may also wish to have a look at.
Best wishes.

Spellings-look at your spelling lists and also research on the internet or use a dictionary to find words that end with 'cious' and 'tious'
Writing- Include 6 of your chosen spellings in 6 different well punctuated sentences.
This week would have been 'Sports day'- so with this in mind, write a story that includes a sporting adventure. It could be a bike ride that goes terribly wrong, a child whose dream comes true when they play for their favourite football team, a trip abroad to watch a sporting event, a birthday party at 'Jump Street' with an unexpected twist! I am sure you can be creative and come up with a brilliant idea. Use this as an opportunity to practise your handwriting, your spelling, your grammar and importantly, your punctuation.
Reading- Log onto Scholastic learning Zone- use the password you were provided with: From 'My Zone' Click 'Pro Reading Library', then in the blue panel in the centre, click on the 'Books' icon. Select online reading books from here (this works in the same way as a kindle). You don't have to read all the book in one go (just note down the page number so you can continue next time you log in. When you have read a book try the quiz.
SPaG online- a new test will be be made available on Monday morning.Take your time and try and improve your score from last time.
