Summer holiday homework/

Creative

Keep a diary- written, photos, postcards, tickets etc of your Summer holiday events or days out. Bring this into school in September. This can be presented in any way you wish.

Keep reading regularly and discuss what you have read with an adult (remember you can still use the 'pro-reading' scheme at home.

Make sure you practise your different arithmetic methods so you are confident with addition and subtraction of decimals and fractions, finding 10% of totals, multiplication (including long multiplication) and division using the bus stop method.

Spelling- learn as many of the spellings on your Year 5/6 spelling sheet as possible so that you start Year 6 knowing most or all of them.

Grammar- make sure you remember and can give examples of the following word types:

nouns, determiners, adjectives, pronouns,  verbs, adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions

Punctuation- revise your learning of inverted commas and apostrophes (for both contraction and possession)
